NSPCA SPAR Works to Pass Industry Bed Bug Bill
This month, NSPCA worked with State Senator Megan Hunt (District 8) to introduce LB 846, the Adopt the Bed Bug Detection and Treatment Act. This bill would require landlords to hire a pest management professional to conduct an inspection and provide treatment if necessary. Our SPAR, Carl Braun, has worked diligently alongside NPMA with Senator Hunt’s office to provide resources and talking points for the bill. NPMA and NSPCA created the attached one-pager for LB 846 (pdf).
LB 846 will be heard in the Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, January 31st at 1:30 PM. Our SPAR will be there to testify in person. If you would like to participate, please reach out to Josh Reynolds (jreynolds@pestworld.org). You can also watch the hearing online at https://nebraskapublicmedia.org/en/watch/live/.
Thank you to all of our members who have been active in our public policy efforts!
