On Friday, October 4th, 2024, members of the Canadian Pest Management Association Board of Directors and the National Pest Management Association’s Legislative Affairs department met with leadership from the Pesticide Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) to discuss issues impacting the pest management industry. The purpose of this half-day long meeting was to engage in meaningful discussions with PMRA officials on industry issues, demonstrate commonly used professional pest management tools, and to continue conversations on ongoing concerns regarding regulatory changes that may impact pest management professionals and the important work they do to protect public health, food, and property across Canada. Future meetings are planned to continue conversations and bolster relationships with PMRA going into 2025.
