Public Policy Update
Preemption Bill
CPCA members testified to the House Energy and Environment Committee about the harmful effects posed by HB24-1178 - the Local Government Authority to Regulate Pesticides bill. In the hearing, the bill was amended to create partial exemptions for some structural pest control uses.
The testimony from CPCA members succeeded in persuading one committee member to vote against the measure after entering the hearing undecided. The bill proceeds to the House floor and NPMA and CPCA have shared a joint letter of opposition with members of the chamber. CPCA and NPMA continue to speak with members of the Colorado legislature and urge them to oppose the bill.
