This role has enabled Sameer to build strong relationships with Industry experts, product suppliers, PCO’s in Alberta and Saskatchewan, Alberta Environment and PMRA.
Sameer’s interest and passion for pest control began in his role as a summer pest technician at Ecopest while completing his education in Engineering as an International Student from Tanzania in East Africa. Upon graduation from Engineering, Sameer joined Orbis Engineering (Spark Power) a national engineering firm as a Junior Project Engineer and went on to lead the Project Planning Department of over 20 employees and over $3M in revenue with the scope of maintenance planning, shutdown planning and management: Project Management of various Projects in diverse industries as well as business development. This management and industrial experience coupled with his pest control exposure are what equip him to successfully lead as the Operations Manager at Ecopest. His education and experience in Engineering plus his knowledge in Pest Control qualifies him as a “Pest Engineer”.
Why I wanted to become CPMA’s President-Elect:
Ecopest and I personally value, giving back to society and industry. In this role a President-Elect and as President in the future, I hope to achieve just that for the betterment of the Structural Pest Management Industry and Public Health as a whole.
My education, experience with operations of a pest control firm across the country and as President of the PMAA have given me skills and knowledge to bring value to the CPMA from a Regulatory standpoint, Relationship Building Standpoint, and from an Operational/Entrepreneurial Standpoint. I will endeavor to be a strong voice for the pest management industry and firms of all sizes in the industry from start-ups to small to medium to large multi-national companies. I have a passion for Pest Control, its people, and its associations and I hope to be able to build on this in this role.
