Thank you to everyone who participated in making the 2023 Spring Conference a great success! A special thanks goes out to all of the speakers who shared their expertise and the vendors that showcased their goods and services and educate attendees on how they can support their work.
CPCA will be offering two bonus webinars to conference attendees who were affected by the concurrent timing issues. Please look for future information about how to earn an extra hour of credit toward your license renewal.

Pesticide Applicator’s Act Bill Update and Other Legislative News
March proved to be an active month for CPCA at the Colorado State Capitol.
The Pesticide Applicator’s Act (PAA) renewal officially became SB23-192 on March 16th. As mentioned last month, the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources did not adopt any additional recommendations made by the state Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) that would expand regulations already in place for alerting and notifying pesticide sensitive persons. However, we are anticipating some amendments to SB23-192 that may incorporate some versions of those recommendations.
The PAA bill will be heard in committee on Wednesday, April 5th. CPCA members will be in-person to testify on the bill and be a resource for the Senators on the committee.
Also this month, CPCA joined the Colorado Weed Management Association and other industry groups in hosting general assembly members as part of the 2023 Weed and Pest Control Reception on March 21st. CPCA had several members in attendance to represent the pest management industry in front of some key legislators, including both House sponsors of the PAA renewal bill, Rep. Barbara McLachlan and Rep. Cathy Kipp.
